[net.auto] Save $$$ by buying your new car in Europe!

dcn@ihuxl.UUCP (Dave Newkirk) (01/22/85)

If you are interested in buying a new European car, most manufacturers have
a European Delivery Plan that can save you money. For example, I am buying
a new Saab Turbo for $15,700 which lists at $18,100 here in the USA. The
money I save will pay for a two week vacation in Europe with some left over.

Normally you purchase the American version of the car in Europe to avoid any
importing problems. The only difference in the car is the catalytic converter,
which is removed while you are in Europe so you can use leaded gas. If you
wait too long, you may miss your only chance to drive on a highway with no
speed limit (the Autobahn). The Green Party in West Germany is pushing for
speed limits on the Autobahn this year.
