This may have been discussed before but I can't find the discussion. I have a 386SX machine running MSDOS 4.01. The basic problem is that I have installed a MODEM as COM4 and windows 3.0 will have nothing to do with it. If I use PROCOMM from DOS the MODEM works fine. However, windows 3.0 running CROSSTALK tells me that COM4 is being used by another DOS application. Someone mentioned to me that there may be come configuration information I have to give to DOS, but I can't find any references in the manuals I have.
