Ok, this was exciting. On Cica I found something called Tweak2 which claims to be able to enhance the resulation of "standard" VGA systems to that of SVGA (or close). So I ran the 'patch' program that came with Tweak on the 'vga800.drv' file found in the package of Paradise drivers on Cica (win3_16.zip). I copied the whole mess onto a floppy and ran Windows setup, selecting Paradise 16 color 800x600 VGA. I compared the size and date of many of the files in windows\system to those found in the package of drivers and they were identical (I assume Windows copied these extra files to \windows\system). I ran Tweak and then Windows. Windows' logo appeared, the screen blanked, there was a bit of snowy looking stuff, and Windows dumped me back to the DOS prompt. System is IBM model 70. I would think the video hardware would be 'compatible.' ;-) Has anyone gotten this combination to work? I've seen two other programs take the hardware beyond the VGA standard, and I'd love to see it in Windows. I'd appreciate hearing from the successful... Thanks for any enlightenment. -- Frank Burleigh burleigh@cica.cica.indiana.edu USENET: ...rutgers!iuvax!cica!burleigh BITNET: BURLEIGH@IUBACS.BITNET Department of Sociology, Indiana University, Bloomington, Indiana 47405
