I've been using a HP PaintJet for about 2 yrs under Windows, mostly for Corel
Draw. I've had no mechanical problems, but I don't use it heavily either.
Output quality is very good in terms of sharpness, considering that the
resolution is 180 dpi. The colors seem to me to be a bit lacking in intensity,
but still plenty good enough for what I do. You can get some very beautiful
effects under Corel Draw using gradient fills from one color to another.

Be forewarned that the black ink in the HP cartridges fades with exposure to air.
If you want a piece of output having black ink to last longer, spray it with a
fixatif available at artist supply stores.

I'd recommend buying HP's optional ($49) Times and Helvetica fonts for the
PaintJet if you're going to do much text work.
