Does anyone know of a Trident 8900 driver for 1024x768x16 mode? I saw the ones for 256 colors in 800x600 and 1024x768 resolutions, but I'd like to get 1024x768x16 working. I saw that some drivers for that mode were included, but they didn't say Trident 8900. The only ones that said Trident 8900 were the hires 256c drivers. Granted, the 1024x768x256 driver is MUCH faster than the old 1024x768x16 driver, but I'm hoping that a newer 1024x768x16 driver, specifically written for the 8900, will come out. I don't need the extra colors, and I'd rather have the extra speed. BTW, I haven't been able to get the 1024x768x16 beta drivers to work at all. The 256 color ones work, but the 16 color ones don't. They won't work on my 8800 OR my 8900 card. Has anyone gotten these drivers to work? I hav edownloaded (at least a month ago) all the latest trident drivers form their Cal. BBS. It included new 1024x768 256 & 16 drivers. I found that the 256 color driver worked, but was a little slow. Then I tried the 16 color driver, and it was really slow (like unusable). At least I -unlike some others- got the 16 color driver to work, but its performance is VERY dissmal. -- Chris Hook Computing Systems/Network Manager Atmospheric & Geographic Sciences University of British Columbia Vancouver, B.C. e-mail: hook@geog.ubc.ca
