[comp.windows.ms] Strange error

I recently upgraded from dos 3.31 to dos 4.0.  Since then when ever I try
to start a non-windows application I get an Unexpected DOS Error:11 message.
I have looked through both my windows and Dos manual and can't find out
what this means.  Does anybody know what the problem is and why with all
the user friendly additions in both windows and dos4.0 do I still get numeric
error codes?
