[comp.windows.ms] ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ APPLE IS IDLE ....................

rdthomps@vela.acs.oakland.edu (Robert D. Thompson) (03/29/91)

Apple is idle, what more can one say.

The attributes of this corporation are, in a very disturbing way,
similar to the gridlock attitudes of the distant past. That is,
instead of being innovative, apple remains idle, coveting
the user interface for their macintosh computers.

Although they were undoubtedly one of the first to exploit
the work of that ever-so-giving Xerox (THINK ABOUT THIS)
on a mass scale, they certainly should not have any rights
to the G-U-I, per se - IN ANY FORM. Here is a question,

HOW MUCH has changed in the Mac interface,
either visually and operationally, over the
		   past 5 years ?

Relatively, it seems that Apple is slow to innovate, possibly
	a sign of idleness.

Microsoft, on the other hand, is a very fast moving and
very innovative corporation. They are so fast, in fact,
that they often disturb others in similar arenas.
Evidence of this is the recent FTC investigation
	announcement.

I guess it is human nature to be jealous of someone
doing so good. But if you look at the nature of Microsoft,
it also tells you something about winners.

THEY WIN, AND THEN MOVE ON...

Groups like that of Apple, have one success and they want
to covet it like a Dog protecting his dinner. Instead of
eating it and moving on - he guards it.

Come on Apple - ACCEPT THAT YOU HAVE SIDELINED YOURSELF FOR THE
	PAST 5 YEARS !!!

Now move on, I know you can do it.

Besides, I am really starting to feel sorry for you.
