According to a document called "Aldus PageMaker Facts & Features Version 4.0
for Windows 3.0", dated January 1991 (which I was given at a demo last
week):
"PageMaker 4.0 will include Adobe Type Manager and special
Adobe fonts free of charge until June 30, 1991"

If you've been reading this group you already know that the "special
fonts" are Gill Sans and Times New Roman. And that the ATM version
is 1.1, which is a minor "bug fix". I used up my quota of questions
for the guy from Aldus before I got around to asking why those fonts
were included instead of Helvetica and Times Roman (and Symbol?!).

Interestingly, in light of the current Mac Vs. Pc discussion here,
Aldus says PM4.04W3.0 is better than the Mac version, and they're
waiting for MacOS7.0 to materialize before they release the Mac
equivalent....

I understand that ATM is being included with Pagemaker. Is this a
special offer, or new addtion to that desktop publishing package?
And, if it is a special offer, how long does it last?
