I am in the process of evaluating testing environments for use in a number ongoing GUI products. My problem is in trying to address the needs of three distinct user/developer communities: Product Devlopment, Quality Assurance and Porting. The first two are primarly concerned (at first) with a sparc-based, motif-driven environment, but will be moving the product to Windows 3.0 and other GUI envirnoments almost immediately. Porting will be folowing the same curve wuth the further complication of diverse hardware platforms. What I am trying to do is provide a solution which will allow the testing environment (both tools and tests) to move along with the product as it is rolled out on all these various platforms. Ideally, I would locate a tool (or set of tools) with a high degree of platform independence and a fairly shallow learning curve. Has anyone found a fairly painless solution to this problem ? Any leads or anecdotes would be greatly appreciated. Please reply via email and I will summarize to the net. Thanks Much.
