Help! Version 1.3 of WinQVT/Net has the Clarkson Packet Driver library which includes a driver for the Etherlink II (3C503) adapter that only supports shared memory mode. Is there an update to this packet driver for the 3C503 that supports DMA mode? The notes for the 3C503 driver states that the last update was on July 27, 1989, although the file 3C503.COM is dated 8/29/90. Any help on this would be greatly appreciated! Thanx in advance! You can reply to this board as I follow it regularly. =Jeffrey= -- .signature is under development

If the reason you want non-shared memory support is to run in conjunction with SUN's PC-NFS then I suggest you use the pktd.sys driver to make PC-NFS work in shared memory mode. I have done this and have successfull combined PC-NFS, windows and NCSA Telnet, all using packet drivers and shared memory. You can get the "compatibility kit" from falstaff.cwru.edu in /pub/compat.kit it is called compat.zip and includes source. If you have troubles setting it up you can send me mail --- Andrew Tridgell tridge@aerodec.anu.edu.au
