When I posted asking for good BMP's for wallpaper, several people suggested getting some GIFs and converting them. So I've got the conversion utility, but don't know where to find the GIFs. I've got a better idea for you...try using Fractint to display any image that's better than VGA. I normally use Cshow to view all my .gif files, but Cshow only goes up to 640x480x256. For higher resolutions, Fractint will display up to 1280x1024 or so. I've got a few 1024x768x256 .gif files, and with my noninterlaced Orchid II and Sony 1304 they are UNBELIEVABLE. I can put my nose 6" from the screen and it looks solid as a rock and I can make out fine details, better than a photograph in my opinion! Actually, there are very few GIFs here, except for the Gulf war images :-(
