[comp.windows.ms] Programming for printers

What is the prefered method for programming graphics that are going to be
destine for 1) the screen, 2) Dot matrix printers 3) Postscript Printers
4) the Clipboard ?

It seems that creating a Metafile might be a good way, and set it to some
nonspecific scale so that on better resolution devices it would could be
scaled better.
In my case I have a graph I want on the screen which may be sent to the printer
or clipboard. Would it be best to copy it to either as a bit map, or store
it originally as a metafile? How do others do it?
Please echo responses via email.
