Has anyone used Dos 4.0's himem.sys with Windows 3.0? Are they compatible? I seem to have a problem with himem on my machine. It is a 3M (1M motherbd and 2M Above Bd) based 80286 with dos 3.3 and a 40M hardcard. Can't run fluidly with standard mode. Thanks ERik

If I remember correctly, the Windows 3.0 documentation is pretty explicit about the fact that DOS's HIMEM will NOT work and should be replaced by the HIMEM that comes with Windows. However, I reserve the right to be wrong, since I don't have the manuals here at work. Check the manual, appendices, and the README file. -- | Dan Muller / KA1UXL / d_muller@took.enet.dec.com | "So THAT's what an invisible barrier looks like!"

It will l*ck ypu up! The Windows himem.sys is ~15k, dated 5-90, the DOS himem.sys is ~8K & older -- <================================><===============================> || Christopher Landers || PURDUE UNIVERSITY - KRAN 708 || || Krannert Computing Center || West Lafayette, IN 47907 || <=================== landers@zeus.mgmt.purdue.edu ================>
