[comp.windows.ms] win87em.exe

dsc@phobos.cis.ksu.edu (Daniel S Clemons_Jr ) (04/10/91)

I downloaded Checkbook Manager from cica and the doc. tells me I need
win87em.exe from Compuserve, which I do not have access to. Is it on
cica, and if so where? If not could someone who has it send it to me?
I can be reached at either of the addresses below.

Thanks in advance.

Hi!

Unless someone (Microsoft or the manufacturer of Checkbook Manager) has
released a new version of WIN87EM.EXE/.DLL, the one that came with the
Windows 3.0 should work.

Some Windows 2.0 programs assume the .EXE instead of Windows 3.0's .DLL .
You should therefore copy the WIN87EM.DLL from the \WINDOWS\SYSTEM to
the WIN87EM.EXE at \WINDOWS :

   CD \<windir>
   COPY SYSTEM\WIN87EM.DLL WIN87EM.EXE

So, that should do presuming you have Windows version 3.0
