Hi, I downloaded some of the new printer drivers from cica, but I am having difficulty installing them. I am sure that I am missing something basic, so I would appreciate your patience. The driver that I am interested in is the driver for the IBM 4019 LaserPrinter with PostScript Option. This file is a .WPD file rather than a .DRV file (ibm39521.wpd and ibm17521.wpd, for PostScript Version 52.1). Perhaps, .WPD files are treated differently than .DRV files (I cannot install the driver by choosing "Unlisted printer, etc.). I would appreciate any insights. Thanks in advance, Jeff Yu

Install an Unlisted Printer. Choose the directory where the new pscript.drv resides. Install it. It will now say "PostScript Printer on None". 2. Select this PostScript printer, then choose Configure. Now choose Setup, and a Postscript Setup menu appears. Choose "Add a Printer". Enter the location of the .WPD file that you want to install. It should then recognize the file and ask if you want to install the IBM PostScript printer. One caveat. When I tried this, it wouldn't bring up the Setup menu. It finally worked, but I don't know exactly what I did to fix it. Good luck, tom

Thanks to all who replied to my initial inquiry. As a warning to others, I will briefly point out my problems. I initially tried to copy the new PSCRIPT.DRV file and the appropriate .WPD file (in my case, IBM39521.WPD) to the WINDOWS\SYSTEM directory. I (incorrectly) assumed that this would make the WPD file visible to Windows after installing the new driver (selecting Unlisted printer, etc.) as detailed in the README.TXT file on SDLDISK6. The README.TXT file, however, states that one should place disk 6 into the diskette drive at the Add Printer Dialog box. One actually needs the disk containing the WPD file (SDLDISK7, in my case). Interesting, I could not get Windows to read the WPD file I had placed in the SYSTEM subdirectory on my hard disk. It appears that some additional files on disk 7 are needed. Thanks again, Jeff Yu
