This got cut off the first time, here it is again: I need a way of creating Program Manager icons and groups from a batch file, as in when installing software. I want my installation program to create an icon in an existing group, or at least create a new group, and then I can then copy a premade .grp file to fake the icon creation. The latter isn't really satisfactory, since I can't use the same group again (without overwriting existing icons), and I'll end up with umpteen groups after a few installs. It's not an option to run Windows in this situation, so a Windows 'install' application won't do the trick. I need some sort of DOS application which can create icons in a Windows .grp file? Anyone already invented this wheel? Or, where could I find info on the group file format? Don Loflin Computation Center Univ. of Texas at Austin dll@emx.utexas.edu

There is infact a good shareware batch language written to run under microsoft windows that is distributed by Wilson Windoware called winbatch - you could write something to create n install program - not too sure on distribution of the runtime.
