I have been watching this area of the network for a couple of weeks now, and I am noticing quite a LOT of problems from people running windows, especially those running 386's, with high-capacity video cards and monitors. This is rather disturbing to put it lightly... I thought the idea of "hardware independence" was to allow software to run on a variety of platforms. But it seems that hardware independence is fine as long as you don't need high res, AND speed! My question is this... is there anyone out there who has had GOOD luck with windows,... say running from fast AT's to 486 33's in ALL THREE modes of windows (BOTH modes for AT's), in any high-res 256 color mode? You may respond to me directly if you can, and let me know what your configuration is, including driver rev number if possible, and the monitor model. Again, my interest is in finding out what works,... we have been hearing a lot about what ISN'T working... I'll post the results when the tide ebbs... Bjorn Lindstrom
