[comp.windows.ms] Windows Terminal program vs. DELETE

wallis@sieras.enet.dec.com (Barry L. Wallis) (04/19/91)

I have just started using Windows Terminal program for communicating with my
VAX. However, I have questions on how to use the keys in VT100 mode.

1) How can I get the delete key (the normal delete the last character typed key
on the upper right hand of the alphanumeric keys) to actually generate a
delete? It seems to generate a ^H which certainly isn't what I want.

2) How can I get the function keys and keypad to emulate the PF1-4 keys and
application keypad?

I read the manual, but, it didn't help.

Didn't read far enough. See pages 576-7 in the Windows Manual. To make these
keys work press Sroll Lock.

Thanks Chuck. I can get the F1-F4 keys to work as expected. However, the
numeric keypad is only good for use of the arrow keys. How can I get the keypad
to be in keypad mode (when I am on a "real" VT100 terminal it works like this)?
For example, I turn ScrollLock on and press [F1][KP7] when in EDT (on a VAX).
This should generate the command prompt. However the [KP7] is ignored and the
next key I type is used with the [F1] key.
