[comp.windows.ms] Corel Draw, AT&T 6300 problem

rl@cbnewsl.att.com (roger.h.levy) (04/19/91)

I have CorelDraw 1.21 running under Windows 3 on an AT&T 6300. The
computer has a Sota 286i accelerator and a few megabytes of LIM 4.0
expanded memory. I've found that some features of CorelDraw are
slightly disabled under this configuration. For example, the node
edit menu displays 8 choices rather than 10 - the "symmetrical" and
"exit" choices that should appear at the bottom of the menu are
missing. Also, the text entry box does not allow input of multiple
lines of text. There are a few other minor but annoying deficiencies.
Can this be explained? Note that the same versions of Corel and
Windows on an AT&T 6286 work as expected.

The reason why the text entry box is not allowing multiple lines of text
is that you need to do a control-ENTER, not just a simple ENTER. This is
documented in the Addendum sheet that comes with version 1.21. Note that
control-ENTER is no longer needed with the latest version, 2.0, just a simple
ENTER will do.

As far as the other issue, node edit box not displaying all choices, what
screen driver are you using. If you are running with the Windows' EGA
driver, it is a low res option and that may indeed be why you don't see
all of your selections. (The 2.x versions of windows' EGA driver had the
option for hi and low res EGA, the 3.0 version only has low res EGA).
