[comp.windows.ms] Moving Win 3.0 from C: to D:

ptadc@levels.sait.edu.au (04/28/91)

I have recently bought an external SCSI drive (Maxtor 8760S) with an
Adaptec 1542B controller. The SCSI is Fdisked and formatted with DOS 4.01.
I am running DOS XMS Driver (ver 2.77) and MS SMARTDrive Disk Cache (ver 3.11).

What I want to do is move Win3 and associated files (Winword, Excel, ToolBook,
etc.) from Drive C: to the SCSI Drive D: without reinstalling Windows and the
other files.  I plan to do the following;

        - xcopy the Windows directory and subdirectories to D:
        - edit *.ini in Windows directory to reflect the new drive
        - edit *.grp in Windows directory for same reason
        - change Path statement in autoexec.bat

Will this work? Do I need to do anything else like including "VirtualHDirq=
FALSE" in [386Enh] section of system.ini?

Thanks for any advice you can give me.
