[comp.windows.ms] Possible Windows Bug? W4W and Clock

sip1@quads.uchicago.edu (Timothy F. Sipples) (04/30/91)

I believe I've found an odd bug concerning an interaction between Clock
and Word for Windows. I'd like to hear if anyone can duplicate the
problem.

In WIN.INI, place in the load line:

load=c:\windows\clock.exe

(or equivalent). This will leave clock minimized on every Windows
startup.

Start Word for Windows, either from the Program Manager or with a batch
file straight from DOS (the way I do it).

Note the odd font at the bottom of the screen, where the help text should
be! It looks like a preview font.

Setup: PC/AT clone with Hercules, LaserJet IIP, Word for Windows 1.1,
Windows 3.0 (no "a" on either of those version numbers).

Does anyone see the same problem?

Thanks,

T.F.S.
