Just received TurboCom and I am impressed. TurboCom supports three modes and many features which may be set for each of the comm ports in your machine. the three categories of comm ports are as follows: 8250/8250-B 8250A/16450 16550 I am currently using it on a 8250A at 9600 baud which before was utterly unusable. Now while there are still some UART errors, they are much more infrequent and only show themselves during long continuous data transfers. Editing with emacs is not a problem. The machine is a 12MHz 286 with ArcNet cards. The UART errors occur only when transfering a file to the network server. It comes from Bio-Engineering Research Labs.
