[comp.windows.ms] A "sure thing" for getting Windows to go *BOOM*

ctne_ltd@uhura.cc.rochester.edu (Chris Newbold) (05/07/91)

I've found a way to crash Windows consistantly (as if its stable anyway).
Running Windows 3.0, WfW 1.1 and ATM 1.0 on a PS/2 55sx (2mb RAM): save
and print a document from WfW. When WfW finishes spooling the file to
the print manager, close WfW (print manager is still sending the file out
to the printer). WfW clears off the screen, and the background is repainted.
*BOOM* Ranging in severity from Windows signing off leaving the mouse
pointer active to an ominous "C:\" prompt appearing in the middle of the
screen. Either way, you're destined for the big red one.

Can anyone else reproduce this? Happens *EVERY* time for me. Very annoying.
