[comp.windows.ms] >16MB of RAM

gooey@helix.nih.gov (Sean Graham) (05/10/91)

	In the README.TXT file that comes with Win 3.0 (and 3.0a) it
	states that if your computer has more than 16MB of RAM you
	must run HIMEM.SYS.

	We just got a new computer here at work that came with 17MB of
	RAM. I'd like to be able to run QEMM 5.12 on it. Is it
	possible? Anyone else out there running more than 16MB and
	using something besides HIMEM?

	Also, any reason as to why this would be required in the first
	place?

	Reply via Email if possible. If anyone else is interested,
	email me and I'll let you know what I find out.

	Thanks

	Sean
