Hi...first off, I'd like to ask a question that might be easy to answer. What's the difference between Windows 3.0 and Windows 3.00a (which came with my new 386)? Lastly, I just got a nice 386 to upgrade from my 286. Until school is out (I'm really busy!), I won't be customizing Windows on the new system because of so many icons and windows programs I have in the old system. So, what I've done is copy everything from the old system to the new one. Then I quickly installed a copy of Windows to see what programs I needed to get my current set-up of Windows to run in 386 mode. I've tried a few programs and have them run in the windows environment with no problems. This leads to my main problem: I've tried running WordPerfect 5.0 in a window and even out, and it gives me an error: "This application has violated system integrity and will be terminated. Please exit windows...." I ran windows in standard mode on the new system and it worked fine (outside of Windows of course). Has anybody encountered this problem before? Do I need to increase the KB memory in my PIF file? Is it because I copy my set-up from my 286 to the 386 and things didn't initialize properly? I'd like to get WordPerfect to run and appreciate any help possible!!! Thanks in advance... -Mike ---------- Michael Wong u-mwong@peruvian.utah.edu University of Utah
