[net.auto] Corvette Convertibles are coming

kek@mgweed.UUCP (Kit Kimes) (02/04/85)

According to the February 4 issue of AUTOWEEK, there will be a
convertible version of the Corvette in 1986. The American Sunroof
Corporation will build between 5000 and 6000 Corvette convertibles.
This is the same company that is making convertible versions of the
Chevy Cavalier, Pontiac Sunbird, Buick Riviera and Cadillac Eldorado.

GM will stock them the same way they stock Pontiac Sunbird Convertibles.
They will be sold through Chevy dealers. Someone walking into the
showroom will never know that they were a conversion done by another
company and not manufactured in a GM body plant.
