I am helping a small, rural and public hospital set-up a desktop publishing system. They have an IBM PS/2 55SX with DOS 4.0. The software is Windows/286 (version 2.1 I believe) with Aldus PageMaker and IBM's ImageEdit scanning software. My problem is that when I install DOS's XMAEM.SYS to enable 386 emulation of 286 memory management (the PS/2 is a 2 meg system) HIMEM.SYS will not install. Does anyone know of a work around? The facility has very little budget excess so it would be nice to avoid an upgrade cycle. Thank you in advance. I vaguely remember something along those lines. Just for the heck of it, try QEMM for the 286, if you can get a copy.
