After yet more UAEs I finally tracked down the number for Berkely Systems and gave them a call. Almost before I could finish describing it they said, yeah, theres a bug with Puzzle. There advice--disable it (deselect it from the list of savers that Randomizer uses) OR set it to its largest size and slowest speed to avoid UAEs. I also said I seemed to have problems running it with Crosstalk for Windows and again, they said, yup we know about it. Either disable SystemIQ Activity Monitor or, better, leave that enabled but edit ad_pref.ini AND tell it NOT to monitor whatever port Crosstalk was using. I did these things. They worked. The new version with the fixed puzzle saver will be out in about two weeks. There are also new savers available via Compuserve one called iconhunt or something like that, that shows your icons and lets you shoot them down. Excellent service! Except I asked them to consider distributing stuff via the Internet--maybe they will. -- Jackie Burhans (burhans@usc.edu) Data Stylist, USC Student Affairs
