I have a 286 with 1meg. memory (bummer, getting more soon). I've been using word for windows in the mode of windows that you get when you start windows up with "win" from the dos prompt. Problem is, that while using word (sometimes when I start it), it suddenly gives the UNRECOVERABLE APPLICATION ERROR dialog box, and I lose what I had been working on. Of course, I am saving all the time now, and have word set to save frequently (I think, it is set at high, I believe it says). But I'm wondering what I'm doing wrong. I assume it is a config.sys problem. I'm hoping it is just that I don't really have enough memory. I tried running it in real mode, and I think it worked okay, but was quite slow, as the memory handling capabilities are limited. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
