The first reply to my Dodge Charger query suggested I repost the
query, adding more criteria so that you wouldn't have to compare
apples and oranges. It was an excellent idea, but I received so
many immediate replies, and I made my selection, so I'll just
give you the results for your edification (that's a word we
learned in technical writer's school--what self-respecting
technical writer would use a good, clear word like "information"
when he/she can use "edification?").
All 12 positive replies were from Charger/Laser/Daytona/Turismo
owners. There were two negative replies--one admitted a
"personal bias" and the other owned a LeBaron with a computer-
to-engine synchronization problem.
So, my decision to buy a Charger with air conditioning and
NO TURBO was made. Mind you, I made this decision carefully--
I weighed important considerations, and we're not just talking
the 8.8% financing. We're talking Big-Time Net.Auto here--we're
talking turning radius and torque and Consumer Reports and
frequency of repair. We are talking INTELLIGENT CONSUMER here.
So I walked into the Dodge showroom, fell HEAD OVER HEELS for the
American Dream: a garnet red pearl Daytona with Turboeverything.
I bought it on the spot (at least I got the 8.8% financing).
So I thank you for your time, and were I not a weak, spineless
wimp, I'm sure I could be an informed buyer like the rest of
you. But I am what I am, and what I am right now is someone who
is going to leave this terminal and go out on the highway and
hit turbo and PASS EVERYTHING!!!
