[comp.windows.ms] Short on Conventional Memory

waligora@hsi86.hsi.com (Robert Waligora) (05/25/91)

I have Windows 3.0 on a Unisys 386/33 with 4MB Ram and 320MB SCSI. I'm using
Xvision for X-windows emulation, and I want to run a DOS program that requires
~450K of memory. I only have about 360K conventional memory available. I
read the manual on Optimizing Memory, but can't seem to get any more because
of the various TSR's required for the Network card etc... Is there some way
to run this application (the application is stupid and nows nothing of extended
or exanded memory).

Any help would be appreciated. I also should say that I have buffers=10, files
=30, himem.sys, smartdrv.sys all running.

Thanks in advance
