[comp.windows.ms] Programmers Editor for Windows

bill@rlgvax.Reston.ICL.COM ( Bill Patton ) (05/28/91)

We are starting on the next release of CodePad (TM) a programmer's
editor for windows and would like some suggestions on what features
you think are important for a programmer's editor.

Briefly, CodePad is a full Windows 3.0 application that lets programmers
set up a GUI development environment under Windows. It has all the
basic features, and now we want to add the advanced ones. Please
provide us with ideas from the following categories:

    * Important features found in DOS/UNIX based programmers' editors.

    * Features that are not in any editors but should be.

    * Features that only real windowing GUI editors can do.

We want to hear about features that enhance productivity and that are
really used as opposed to ones that are merely theoretically possiable.

Please forward all replies to me at my UNIX mail address as well as
posting them in the news (Our news groups time out after one day). My
UNIX mail is through ICL, my real US mail address and phone are:
