I am currently using an ATI VGA wonder with 512K and am very pleased
with this cards performance as it relates to the price.
My only disappointment is that 800x600x256 or really any 256 color modes
are slow to update. I do not blame the card (my machine is a 10Mhz 286)
especially considering the price I paid for it. I am also planning
to upgrade to a 386 soon but am always interested in a way to speed
Windows screen updates.
I recently saw an ad for the ATI 8514/A plus card which I believe is an
accelerated 1024x768 (capable of 256 colors when 1Mb video mem installed).
Is anyone out there using this card? Are you pleased? Are there adequate
drivers for all modes within Windows?

PS: Is there anyone reading this who has some affiliation with ATI, if so
do you know if upgrades from other ATI cards can happen, i.e. cheaper
price on the new ATI card.
