This question will most likely show my ignorance about windows, and most definately shows my lack of manuals/documentation for Windows. ---- I am running Windows 3.0 on a 286 clone with 2 meg of memory (extended). Now I may be entirely misinformed, but it is my understanding that while you have a DOS application running (for instance Procomm, Waffle, or even a dos shell) you can use the Alt-Esc key sequence to change tasks (Flip back into windows.) The Alt-Esc works fine within windows itself, but if you spawn a process that is not contained within the initial windows environment, and try to Alt-Esc back to the program manager (or Task Manager) my screen goes black and the machine locks up... Is this a common problem? And do any of you have any idea where to start looking for a cure. I am planning to purchase a registered version of windows 3.0 soon. (NO FLAMES ABOUT PIRATED SOFTWARE!) Maybe this will cure the problem! Thanks in advance for your help...
