I recently got some equipment that'll let me have a constant line into the local University Network. I have it plugged into Com2 and it works fine as long as I don't try to access it from Windows...(I'm using it right now.) If I try to do anything with Com2 in Windows, the system hangs leaving only my mouse to keep me company. I have a 2400 modem on Com4 and it works fine. My mouse is on Com1. All the base addresses and IRQs are right, I think. I've got a 486-33, Windows 3.00a, 8 megs of RAM and a Spire Eiffel ISA motherboard. Does anyone have any idea what is going on????
