I would like to run windows at 1024X768 256 colors. I am run win3.0 in

standard mode, I have 2mb of memory and a 1mb trident based vga card.

Vu,

If you have the Trident Impact III card you're halfway there.  That's the
less expensive half.  The monitor is the other half.  If you run the Trident
card in interlaced mode you'll need a monitor with a horizontal scan rate
of aroun 35KHz.  If you run the Trident in non-interlaced mode you'll need
a monitor with a horizontal scan rate of around 48KHz for a vertical scan
rate of 60Hz and around 57KHz for a vertical scan rate of 72Hz.  This is
the expensive half!

Trident should have supplied a floppy with drivers for Windows 3.0.  If you
don't have the floppy you can call them at 1-800-348-8808.  I'm sure they'd
send you one for a small fee.

So, check you monitor specs to see which Trident mode you can run in.
