Help! I'm sick of paintbrush's low resolution and the high cost of Corel Draw! I'm looking for a decent, yet inexpensive (much less than $300) drawing program which is compatible with word for windows. By decent I mean it needs to be better than the paintbrush which comes with windows. I need to be able to combine text and graphics together without having the text bit mapped to my screen's resolution, as paintbrush does. I also would like the graphics to be stored as individual objects so they can be more easily modified at a later time. Paintbrush just stores everything in one large bitmap. I also need to be able to include these graphics in word for windows documents. So I'll need some method of storing the graphics in a TIFF format (If I just used the clipboard to transfer the graphics, then I'm back to having text bitmapped to my screen's resolution). I don't have a big need for colors, but a couple shades a grey might be nice. I don't need the drawing tool to be a windows ap, but it should run in a windows dos box. Ideally I would like something similar to XVT-draw so long that I can keep a high resolution when I go to print out a W4W doc. If you know of a drawing tool which meets these requirements, then I really would like to hear about it. Or if you know of another way of getting high resolution pictures into a W4W document, that would also be very helpful. Many thanks in advance, Sandy -- Sandy Spinrad Internet: spinrad@cornu.ucsb.edu UUNET: uunet!hub.ucsb.edu!spinrad@cornu
