A person in my office is getting the following message from Windows 3.0: THIS APPLICATION HAS INSUFFICIENT MEMORY FOR ITS DISPLAY. CHECK THE PIF SETTINGS TO ENSURE THEY ARE CORRECT. IF THE DISPLAY IS ERRATIC, RESTART THE APPLICATION. This happens when he tries to start up Word Perfect 5.1 in a DOS window while running in 386 enhanced mode. We've fiddled with various combinations of PIF settings, including turning on both "high graphics" and "retain video memory". The environment: IBM PS/2 model 70 4meg memory Standard IBM VGA mode Windows 3.0 in 386 enhanced mode Word Perfect 5.1 QEMM PC DOS 3.3 Does anyone know what memory the message is referring to, and if there is anything we can do to resolve the problem? Thanks for any help you can give. Please reply via email. Paul Hardiman University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee HARDIMAN@CSD4.CSD.UWM.EDU
