[comp.windows.ms] access COM3

Does anyone know how to access COM3 under Windows 3.0 in enhanced mode?
My modem is connected to COM3 and I use Procomm Plus as communication
software. Everything works fine from DOS, but it doesn't work if
I run it from inside Windows (enhanced mode). If I run Procomm from
Windows in real mode everything works since I can specify in the PIF
file of Procomm that this program uses COM3.

I would appreciate any suggestions or pointers where to look for the solution.

Thank you,

P.S. Please respond by sending mail to my e-address.

What port address are you using for COM3, and what IRQ number? See the
SYSINI3.TXT file which came with Windows for info about what the default
values are.

Also, you didn't say what type of machine you're using. The README files
don't say so, but the default values for COM3-COM8 are different in
a Microchannel machine. If you're on a PC/2 the values given in the
.ADF file should be used to set up the Windows data.

Comm port addresses and IRQ numbers are specified in the [386enh] section
of SYSTEM.INI.
