[comp.windows.ms] Call for Beta Testers

papa@pollux.usc.edu (Marco Papa) (12/25/89)

We have a few last spots for beta testers of our forthcoming communication
program for MS-Windows. If you're interested in becoming a beta tester,
please contact me by e-mail, indicating which kind of PC equipment you
will be using (mainly video adapter type), and what kinds of host you'll
be able to test the softwarw with (BBS, IBM mainframes on 7-bit lines,
Tek 4014 supporting hosts, and VMS hosts are what we are mainly interested
in). Signing of a non-disclosure WILL be required.

The response to this call has been overwhelming to say the least. We have
more than enough qualified candidates (I got almost 30 replies so far).
I asked everybody to send also a postal address to mail the non-disclosure,
but half of my replies bounced. Not having a postal address automatically
escludes one from consideration. Please also understand that we'll select
only 2 (possibly 3) testers, which will be contacted directly.

Thank you very much.

Please no more requests! 100 replies in 24 hours is certainly too
overwhelming when we have space for only 5 beta testers of the typed
we asked about. Among the ones we ALREADY received we'll select 10
that will received non-disclosures. Out of the ones that will return the
non-disclosure (we assume a 70% return) we'll select five.

40% of the people indicated that their "wife" or "roommate" would fit
the category. It is unlikely that we'll select anybody who sent this
type of reply, since it would defeat our purpose of having a user that
can't get ANY help besides what we give in the program.

I have replied to everybody so far, to ensure that I can reach you
by mail (that is also a requirement).

Thanks for the warm response.
