I have a problem with one of my car stereo amplifiers that I don't quite understand. Occasionally, when I turn off the turn signals, lights or brake lights, the amplifier output goes to zero, then fades back in. Note that this doesn't happen when I turn on the aforementioned objects. I suspect that there is a problem with the amplifier being "starved" for current, but at am a loss to explain why it happens when the objects are turned off, not turned on. All of the power connections to the amplifier are either soldered or screwed on spade lugs, the ground is good, etc. Any of you automotive electronics people out there got any ideas? Thanks in advance, Bob

Bob: Whenever you turn OFF any current user in your car, including lights, there will be a voltage surge temporarily. It is well possible that your amplifier has some sort of surge protection built into it, or that it simply saturates or goes funny while it is trying to accomodate the sudden change. Bernard H.
