[Edited slightly. --Ed.]

Some time ago there was a request out on this newsgroup for someone to
establish an archive for alt.fax news articles. After some of the usual
delays and the help of a Graduate Research Assistant named Harpal Chohan
who works for me (actually, he did all the real work), I am proud to
announce that an archive has been set up at "nisca.ircc.ohio-state.edu".
Unfortunately, we don't have anything more than about a month old so it
will take a while to accumulate an appreciable amount. The archive is
available via anonymous
ftp from: nisca.ircc.ohio-state.edu
		 userid: anonymous
           	 password: <your id>

The alt.fax archive is located in pub/fax-archives

The following is an announcement that Harpal prepared and can be found
in the README file in pub/fax-archives:

This directory contains archives for the newsgroup alt.fax.
Articles from the current month are in the file "current".
Older articles are archived in files named after the month,
e.g., "fax.DEC-89".

The archive files are UNIX mail files and can be ftp'd in text
mode. You can use your favorite mail program to view these files, e.g.,
you can pull it into MM with the "get" command, or mailx with "mail -f",
elm with "elm -f" or mh with "inc -file" etc.. Or, of course, you can just
use your favorite text display command (more, pg, browse, or whatever) or
editor (vi, emacs, xedit, or whatever) to scroll through it.
