Archive-site: zaphod.ncsa.uiuc.edu [128.174.20.50] Archive-directory: NCSA_Telnet/contributions Reposted-by: emv@math.lsa.umich.edu (Edward Vielmetti) We've added an "ACCT" command to the ftp client in NCSA/BYU Telnet, version 2.3.1. During an ftp session with an IBM VM/CMS system, if you tried to "cd" to a minidisk that required a password there was no way to specify the password. Now you can specify the password, but it is displayed on the screen as you type it (we'll fix that later). Another recent improvement is that the "NCSA Settings" file is opened "shared", which makes the Telnet application more friendly in a multi- user fileserver environment. This new version is available from "zaphod.ncsa.uiuc.edu" (128.174.20.50) in the "NCSA_Telent/contributions" directory. Thanks to Evan Stark at CUNY Graduate School for reporting the ACCT problem. If someone will give me the details of the problem(s) with the portable I'll be glad to fix it/them in the source code. Anyone know how the problem was fixed in New Zealand?
