The problem with trashing of cursors appears to be because NCSA Telnet
does something naughty, namely it locks the handles to those system
cursor resources, and expects them to stay locked.

I've fixed this (by taking copies of the cursor resources) and several
other problems, including:
    * some subtle terminal-emulation bugs that only seem to
show up when editing text under VAX/VMS
    * proper handling of the case where you open a window and
      specify *no* scrollback
    * no more crashing when you start up on a machine with
      AppleTalk turned off
    * you can put the "NCSA Telnet settings" file in the same
folder as the application, it doesn't have to reside
in the system folder (this feature was in version 2.2 of
NCSA Telnet, but disappeared in 2.3)
    * some fine-tuning of hot-spots on cursors to make their
positioning seem more natural. The "positioning" cursor
(which appears when you hold down the option key) can now
appear even with an FTP connection established.
    * I've swapped the meanings of the numeric plus and minus keys on
the ADB standard keyboard. It turns out I've got to do
this for the ISO keyboard as well (next release).

And I've ported the source to MPW C 3.0/3.1.

If anybody would like to test out my version, feel free to
download it via anonymous FTP from peace.waikato.ac.nz (130.217.64.62),
in the directory pub/mac/NCSA_Telnet. Peace will be replaced by
a Sun at some stage, but the above name and address should stay valid
for another month or so.

You'll find a StuffIt archive (in both binary and .hqx form) containing
the complete source and executables. There're also a couple of separate
hqx files containing just the executables.
