For those of you who need to know, ...

Scott Anderson (Scotta@hpdso003.hp.com) sent me the source code, but I
now see that it is available via ftp.  The port is by Doug Graham.  I
compiled it without problems.  It works ok.  It sometimes complains
that the input is corrupt, so I have to redirect stdin and stdout.
Then it complains but it works.

The source is available from uunet.uu.net as
comp.sources.misc/volume9/compress.ms.Z
