[net.auto] Preventing corrosion around the battery.

Forget about vaseline. The most effective corrosion inhibitor around
the battery is crankcase oil. And it is always available by pulling
out the dipstick and dribbling it onto places that show the white snow
of battery acid doing its destructive work.
Better yet, paint a film of engine oil onto the battery terminals,
holddown bolts, and battery support before corrosion even starts.
(I have prevented battery corrosion on my vehicles this way for forty
years.)
