Does anybody have a GIF to raster file conversion program? I would like
to convert some of my GIF files to something my sun 3/80 can understand so
I can display it using the suntools -background command.

[[Ed's Note: This hasn't been posted in a while, I've been answering them
as they come (about 5 a week or so!). The best (in my humble Opinion)
utility for converting different image formats is still Jef Poskanzer's
PBMPLUS. It is available via anonymous FTP from rtsg.ee.lbl.gov
(128.3.254.68) as /pbmplus.tar.Z (currently 278222 bytes). It converts
among almost half a million formats and does a nice job of it. For those
of you who just want the ability to display images, the xloadimage package
will do this under X - xloadimage is available via anonymous FTP from
titan.rice.edu (128.42.1.30) in four files:
/sun-source/xloadimage.{1234}.shar. These may also be retrieved from the
archive server in the normal fashion. -bdg]]
