MacKenzie) Version 1.4 of the GNU file manipulation programs is now available for anonymous ftp from prep.ai.mit.edu [18.71.0.38] in the file pub/gnu/fileutils-1.4.tar.Z. The programs in this package are: cat chmod cmp cp cut dd dir du head install ln ls mkdir mkfifo mv paste rm rmdir tac tail touch vdir dir and vdir are ls with different default output formats. mkfifo is a POSIX invention that is like `mknod file p'. tac prints files backwards. Changes from release 1.3: Added simple roff -man documentation, cut, paste, and touch programs, changes to accomodate a new draft of POSIX.2 including removal of the create program, more bug fixes, and some new options. Send bug reports to bug-gnu-utils@prep.ai.mit.edu. Please do NOT post them to the gnUSENET newsgroup gnu.utils.bug, as this often results in bad addresses, which we can not reply to.
