There has been a little-known effort by John Hassey of Data General to
modify gcc to produce code for MsDos. John has made valiant efforts,
but has found the demands on his time too great to continue. I have
made diffs between gcc-1.37.1 and his code. Unfortunately, the diffs
consisted of over 3MB of text! I am not motivated at this time to try
to simplify the differences to include the essential changes, so I am
making the compressed diff file available as-is.

Any hackers interested in continuing this effort will find the patches
in wuarchive:pub/gcc-ms86.diff.Z (128.252.135.4). I can direct you to
the full gcc-ms86.tar.Z file if you are interested. This compiler
generates MASM code and runs on Unix systems. -David-
