Hello, world!

[
Correction - In the last posting, scam's address was listed as
128.32.183.1. This was an error. The correct address is:
128.32.138.1. Dyslexia strikes again. :)

I wrote 'xgo' three or so years ago. It was quite a hack job at the
time, and I am quite embarassed at the coding.

Anyway, I may have an X11 version of xgo soon. I will be posting about
it when it approaches completion. It should support the basic
functionality of xgo and will be compabable with previous versions of
internet go.

Also, a multi-developer project is taking place with 'mgt' to greatly
enhance the features and compatability of 'mgt'. Currently, there
are about 5 developers in on the discussions, three of which are
involved in code changing. If you are interested in joining in
on the project, contact me and I will add you to the mailing list.
The project is moving a little slow right now, as it is just
beginning and the source-code management is not quite automated.

Later, I will release source code for a RCS-by-mail project development
system if anyone is interested.

Finally, I am going to support the following at scam.berkeley.edu
as an archive until further notice: (ftp to 128.32.138.1)
(check src/local & src/games for the following)

	- go.players: a list of players avaliable for internet games
or play-by-email, includes rank & address
[send your name if you want to be on this list]
	- go.shar.Z: the latest internet go program
	- mgt.shr*.Z: the latest 'mgt' display program
	- mgt.series.*: a set of game & problem collections in smart-go
		format

Send any additions, corrections, or suggestions to me.
